What's with the name?

You're probably looking at my blog title thinking, "We've got a creative one here...". But there's a explanation, I promise. Long ago in a land far, far away is where this story begins. Alright, so it was only 23 years ago, and New York is not that far away...but those are just minor details. My wonderful mother was 9 months pregnant with her middle child (hint: me) and unsure if it was going to be a boy or girl. They were set on the name Kevin for a boy but not 100% set on a girl name. My Dad's co-workers kept asking what they were going to name the baby if it was a girl and he would tell them "Probably Jamie". Fast forward a bit, through the unnecessary details, and there my parents were with their second daughter. Well, when my dad returned to work there were signs congratulating him on his new daughter, Probably Jamie. Not the most exciting story on planet earth, but it's about as clever as engineers get. And for that, it's one of my favorites.

Now, I could have picked any random story to title my blog with, but there's another reason I chose this one. I am that person who always get herself in situations that no one else would ever be in. Not necessarily bad things, just odd things. That friend who is constantly surrounded by awkward, embarrassing moments. If you were to ask anyone who knows me, "Of everyone you know, who is most likely to fall up the stairs?", "Who do you think would naively end up at a bulletproof Subway in South Chicago?", or even "If you could pick one person that you think would get alligator poop up their nose, who would you choose?"...they would all answer "Probably Jamie"

I'm here to share those "Probably Jamie" moments, and many other things, with you all. I find them highly entertaining and think it would be quite selfish to keep them all to myself! :)
